I höstas blev biblioteket inbjudet av Patricia Staaf, föreståndare för AKL (Centrum för akademiskt lärarskap), att delta vid ett högskoleövergripande möte om att utveckla ett samarbete mellan Malmö högskola och Malmö stad kring breddad rekrytering. Utifrån ett exempel från University of East London hade denna idé till ett gemensamt projekt för att följa Malmöungdomars väg genom hela utbildningssystemet växt fram. Under hösten 2014 deltog jag och Pernilla Fröjdh, tillsammans med ett stort antal medarbetare från Malmö högskola och Malmö stad, i arbetet med att inventera vad som skulle krävas för ett sådant projekt och hur vi tillsammans kunde bygga vidare på befintlig kunskap och goda erfarenheter.
Visionen som finns för samarbetet är att det ska leda till en demokratiseringsprocess och ett bestående samarbete för att främja det livslånga lärandet. Målet är att:
- Förstå och förändra strukturer
- Kunna mäta och förstå effekter av olika insatser/interventioner
- Öka antalet Malmöungdomar som går till högre utbildning
- Öka Malmöungdomars inträde på arbetsmarknaden
Kortsiktigt är målet att genom ökad kunskap och förståelse effektivisera och vidareutveckla samarbeten mellan staden och högskolan i syfte att bredda rekryteringen och underlätta övergången till högskolestudier. Målet kommer att brytas ner i delmål som formuleras för varje delprojekt.
I ett första steg kommer MUVA att fungera som paraplyorganisation för ett antal mindre delprojekt som görs inom ramen för respektive organisations ordinarie verksamhet. Tre delprojekt är i nuläget klara:
- Fortsatt kartläggning av aktiviteter för att fördjupa och strukturera den samverkan som finns.
- Fortsatt arbete kring gemensamma data och om möjligt ta fram ett IT-stöd som gör det möjligt att följa elevers resultat från grundskola till arbetsliv.
- Kritisk granskning av fyra delar i processen som löper genom utbildningssystemet/ut i arbetslivet: Genomströmning, drop-outs, övergångar mellan utbildningsstadier/arbetsliv samt validering (Vägledarnätverket SamSyv).
I ett andra steg tar MUVA formen av ett större forsknings- och utvecklingsprojekt som kräver extern finansiering, exempelvis EU-medel. För detta behöver politiker och näringsliv involveras och inget är ännu beslutat om hur denna del av projektet kommer att se ut.
Jag och Pernilla kommer att fortsätta följa projektet och delta vid de möten som organiseras. Vi vet inte ännu om, eller i vilken utsträckning, vi kommer att delta i något av de olika delprojekten, men hoppas kunna fortsätta bidra med vår kompetens och våra erfarenheter i diskussioner och samtal.
