Scholars at Risk Speakers Series in Sweden

On December 3, the Faculty of Culture and Society and Department of Global Political Studies will host the first Scholars at Risk Speakers Series in Sweden.

Scholars at Risk (SAR), which is based at New York University, is a network of universities that work to protect scholars whose careers and lives are at risk because of what they teach or do research on.  Four Swedish universities are members, including Malmö University.

Shirin Zubair is a Pakistani professor of literature and gender studies who is currently a visiting SAR-scholar in Norway. The title of her lecture is ”Beyond Malala: Gender Education and Academic Freedom in Pakistan”.

Frukostseminarium: ”How personal networks shape business”

Institutet för hållbar stadsutveckling (ISU) bjuder in till frukostseminarium 19 november. Denna morgon pratar Peter Parker, Urbana studier, om sin avhandling ”How personal networks shape business”. Det kommer att handla om nätverkens betydelse för företagens förmåga till problemlösning och faktorer som driver eller dämpar utveckling av nätverk i och mellan organisationer.

Research Afternoon at the Faculty of Culture and Society

On December 2nd the Faculty of Culture and Society will be hosting a research afternoon with staff from Library & IT Services to discuss questions around copyright, open access and self-archiving. All researchers at the faculty are welcome. The discussions will be held in English if needed. The afternoon starts at 13.00 in room 124 at Gäddan.
