Vaike Fors is Associate Professor (docent) in Pedagogy at the School of Information Technology at Halmstad University College.
The title of the talk is:
How to inspire students to approach social science with visual and sensory methods
We have invited Vaike to K3 in order for her to talk about her new book Visuella metoder (https://www.studentlitteratur.se/#9789144096100/Visuella+metoder). Below is a description her talk:
This seminar raises pedagogical questions on how to inspire students to use visual and sensory methods as creative tools for studying cultural and social phenomena in society in ethnographic and participatory research. The seminar is based on a recently published book; “Visuella metoder”, which tries to move beyond more conventional handbooks in its ambition to not only provide concrete suggestions but also to give a historical background and a contemporary overview of the field of visual methods in social sciences. The book also questions the future of visual methods, questions that will be discussed during the seminar specifically in relation to both the development and everyday use of new technologies and emerging ideas of multi-sensoriality.
