Information about the risk assessment, conducted as part of the FISK assessment, is listed below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TS Dean 18 Jan 2019\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/312120007?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div id=\"magicdomid147\" class=\"ace-line\"><strong><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">Risk analysis<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"ace-line\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">For 2019,&nbsp; the departments have done a risk analysis and the risks identified as the biggest and that we are working on, among smaller risks, are:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul class=\"list-indent1\">\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk for deficiencies in the psychosocial work environment and high work load &#8211; action plans are prepared at the departments;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that the physical work environment does not support the needs by research, education and the students &#8211; here we are working with Omtag Niagara and also more longterm plans;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that our surroundings and potential collaborators do not know enough about us &#8211; here we are working with increase collaboration and increasing publications;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that research does not grows as quickly as the research funding and grants are growing &#8211; here we are working on recruiting;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that the teachers are doing too much administration and have little time for actual research &#8211; here we are working on improved resource efficiency and work planning;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that the communication between the academics and the support and administration is weak &#8211; here we are working on tighter connections with the TS administration office and also with other key persons in the various administrative and support units, the establishment of the dean&#8217;s office on floor 5 is a result of this work;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk with deficiencies in handling examinations &#8211; here we are working with the exam unit to find solutions and a smooth and secure process;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"list-indent1\"><span class=\"author-1185478712 font-color-000000 font-size-medium unseen-change\">risk that IT-structures are not supporting our activities &#8211; here we are working with the IT-department.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this week&#8217;s update, Andreas talks about the upcoming election to the TS Faculty Board, results of the completed Regulation on Internal Governance and Control (FISK) assessment and the number of applicants to the material science professorship.
