{"id":4317,"date":"2018-10-16T16:30:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-16T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogg.mah.se\/ts\/?p=4317"},"modified":"2018-10-16T14:21:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-16T12:21:28","slug":"conversation-about-open-access-research-publishing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogg.mah.se\/ts\/2018\/10\/16\/conversation-about-open-access-research-publishing\/","title":{"rendered":"Conversation about open access research publishing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On October 25, Malm\u00f6 University Vice-Chancellor Kerstin Tham and the University Library will organize an afternoon conversation, held in Swedish, about how the University can facilitate the transition to open access publishing.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When and where:<\/strong><br \/>\nThursday October 25 at 13:00-16:00 in Niagara lecture hall B1<\/p>\n<p><strong>The program includes: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a presentation by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hanken.fi\/en\/person\/mikael-laakso\">Mikael Laakso from Hanken School of Economics<\/a> in Finland, who is a member of the European Commission&#8217;s Expert Group on the Future of Scholarly Publishing and Scholarly Communication. He will talk about the economics of open access publishing, options for researchers and possible strategies for Malm\u00f6 University;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>a presentation by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/beateeellend\">Beate Eellend<\/a>, who is Open Access Coordinator at the Swedish Royal Library and who will describe the national strategy for open access to research publications;<\/li>\n<li>a panel discussion with <a href=\"https:\/\/mau.se\/en\/persons\/rebecka.lettevall\/\">Rebecka Lettevall<\/a>, Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Society, <a href=\"https:\/\/mau.se\/en\/persons\/per.jonsson\/\">Per J\u00f6nsson<\/a>, Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Applied Mathematics, Beate Eellend, Mikael Laakso and <a href=\"https:\/\/mau.se\/en\/persons\/sara.kjellberg\/\">Sara Kjellberg<\/a>, Malm\u00f6 University Library Director.
