This week we welcome our guest Vira Shendryk who will talk about her research as well as other research that is currently conducted at Sumy University, Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Title: Research projects at Sumy State University<\/p>\n
In the talk I will present research problems at Sumy University that we
\ncurrently work on. At first part of the talk, I’ll tell you a little about
\nSumy State University (SSU) and about main directions of scientific
\nactivity at SSU in the area of information technologies, and in the second
\npart \u2013 I’ll give example of the research project of SSU.<\/p>\n
In this talk, I will present the design and implementation of the
\nmonitoring system of heat building consumption in the form of
\nweb-resource. The problem of efficient use of energy resources is very
\ncritical and finding a solution is urgent. This project focuses on
\nimprovements of mathematical models that allow determining most accurately
\nthe resources needed for the system. The hardware support of the system
\nconsists of monitoring devices, such as digital sensors and data
\ncollection terminal. This allows monitoring in real time, providing
\nup-to-date information about the status of supplies. The system described
\nhere, HeatCAM (Web-based information system for monitoring and prediction
\nof heat building consumption), has been implemented to provide
\nmultifunctional insights, such as analysis of the current status of
\nsupplies and short-term prediction of the required amount of heat under
\ncertain climatic conditions. I will describe the general architecture of
