This week, the Dean decided about the TS Teacher Review committee (Lärarförslagsnämnd, LFN, previously called Anställningsnämnd, AN, or recruitment board). The board will work to ensure quality in the recruitments and promotions of academic staff and appointment of docents and therefore has a strategic role in the development of the faculty. The LFN prepares decisions taken by the Dean or the Vice chancellor. TS LFN will consist of a chair and four members, and have four reserves. Announce your interest or nominate a colleague for the LFN by sending an email to the Dean at andreas.jacobsson@mau.se by the 10th May. If you have expressed your interest before, please do it again now.

The vice chancellor grants funding for pre-studies related to the Corona pandemic. The studies can be within technology and science, as well as within medicin, health, social science, pedagogics or the humanities. The pre-study is expected to be used as a basis for application of more external funding. If you want to apply for the funding, note that the deadline is 25th May. The aim is that ten studies are granted funding during July, and the studies can be done during the fall and reported in May next year. The vice chancellor has also included summer courses in the decision to teach and examine by distance learning. This means that no activities will be allowed on campus until at least 30th August. More information about the start of the autumn term will follow.

On Friday 8th May at 13.15, Dimitris Paraschakis will defend his thesis. The public defense will be streamed, and next week you will receive an email with the link to follow the event along with instructions for how to submit questions.

Paul Davidsson was the TS-coordinator for the ERA19, External Research Audit.
