The government released the Vårändringsbudgeten earlier this week and it includes increased spending for the higher education sector. It is too early to know exactly what will be the consequences or expectations on TS in this regard, but it is likely that we are asked to increase the number of students at the foundation year programme (basår).

TS sees an increase in student application numbers for studies starting in September. All our engineering degree programs has a substantial increase in number of applications. This also goes for the media technology programmes and the IT and Economy programme.

The current corona-situation makes it difficult to know what to expect in terms of student numbers. In particular, due to the global insecurities right now, it is hard to forecast what effect this will have on our new master degree programmes as they are in particular targeting international students as well as Swedish students.

On the 8th May, doctoral student Dimitris Parachakis will defend his doctoral dissertation. His nailing event should have been held today, but instead he makes his dissertation public and announces his defence in this vlog.
