Weekly video update with the Dean and TS studentombud

This week, the update also includes a message from Mladen Dimitrov at the Student Union.

The election to the University Board is over and from TS Professor Helena Holmström Olsson is a teacher representative and Jörgen Ekman is one of the reserves. Read more about the University Board and the result of the recent election here.

As a faculty and as a university, we seem to be adapting to the new conditions of distance education. There are still questions marks to be straightened out, but on the whole we are picking up where we left off, and planning for the rest of the semester as well as for the rest of the year is ongoing.

To ensure the legally required opening of all official mail, we need you as an employee (if you do not have the possibility to empty your physical mailbox yourself) to grant authorization to Malmö University to open any mail addressed to you as an individual. Due to the ongoing corona virus outbreak, many of you work from home and have no opportunity to empty your physical mailboxes. Malmö University is legally restricted from opening mail addressed to an individual, i.e. where the name of the employee is at the top of the address on the envelope. To ensure that official documents and other university related mail is not left unopened, Malmö University needs authorization to open any mail addressed to individuals. Anyone who does not authorize Malmö University to open their mail, will themselves be subsequently responsible for emptying their physical mailboxes and for the handling of their incoming mail. If you grant authorization to open your mail, you will get a scanned copy of the mail forwarded to your e-mail address. After scanning, your physical mail will be placed in your physical mailbox, as Malmö University has no legal authority to dispose of it. See emails from fullmaktpost@mau.se 24 March and Peter Winther 27 March, for practical information.

If you have any paper exams in your possession from before the decision about moving into distance-based education and examination, please contact study administrator Bodil Sterner to arrange a handover.

There is still time to apply for the Rudolf Palm grant until Sunday 5th April, by sending an email to your Head of Department.
