Language in multilingual and multicultural societies <\/strong>is the central concern of Language and Linguistics at Malm\u00f6 University.<\/p>\n

This includes a spectrum of courses offered at the Department of Culture, Language and Media<\/a> (KSM) and the Faculty of Learning and Society.<\/p>\n

We offer a BA program in English Studies <\/a>is offered at the Department of Art, Culture and Communication (K3) at the Faculty of Culture and Society.<\/p>\n

This faculty is also home to multidisciplinary research on one of Europe’s most linguistically diverse regions: the Caucasus. Apart from courses in the Georgian language <\/a>and Russian<\/a>, we offer area studies on the region, under the heading of Caucasus Studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other courses related to the study of linguistic and cultural diversity are:<\/p>\n

Interkulturell kommunikation (I-II)<\/a> and Tv\u00e5spr\u00e5kighet och identitet<\/a>, both of them distance courses (in Swedish).<\/p>\n

In line with the department’s special remit for Widening Participation, many of our courses are tailored to strengthen students’ language proficiency and career prospects in the face of new challenges, both societal and educational, for example:<\/p>\n

Many courses in language courses in English, Swedish, Georgian, and Russian are offered at undergraduate level, as well as courses in Creative Writing<\/a> and Theatre in English<\/a>.
