I have some interesting things to share with you, mostly about learning about and practising societal impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.mah.se\/nyttfranks\/files\/2023\/10\/Kerstin-Sandell-Malmo-universitet-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"290\" height=\"163\" src=\"https:\/\/blogg.mah.se\/nyttfranks\/files\/2023\/10\/Kerstin-Sandell-Malmo-universitet-07.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3836\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advisory Board, with the support of the Vice Chancellor, has created a PhD course in <a href=\"https:\/\/mau.app.box.com\/s\/qq575cwwt5gr7rwhm7mgu893y7ouvch6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Societal Impact<\/strong><\/a>. I have followed the development of the course from the side and listened to a presentation of how the first round went, and it seems very interesting and relevant. The second round of the&nbsp;course will start in the fall of 2024, so supervisors and PhD students keep an eye on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advisory board has initiated work on how to present and assess societal impact, some examples can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/mau.se\/en\/research\/research-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> where among others Hanne Berthelsen at CTA presents her work.&nbsp;Resources on how to create an impact case can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.mau.se\/tools-and-services\/research-support\/communicate-and-implement-research\/developing-an-impact-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be a two-step event where those of you that are interested can learn more about how to create impact cases.&nbsp; The \u201dTraining on Societal Impact of Science\u201d is organized by AESIS &#8211; Network for Advancing and Evaluating Societal Impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Part I: Online seminar <strong>30 November 2023<\/strong>, 14:15-17:15 CET. Registration deadline: 23 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Part II: On-site training, workshop including individual tutoring <strong>28 or 29 February 2024,<\/strong>                              9-16 CET (preliminary). Societal impact is becoming more and more important and will also figure in our upcoming research evaluation. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced and knowledgeable people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other things that the Advisory board is involved in is supporting strategic collaborations (strategiska partnerskap), that is more longstanding collaborations with non-academic actors.
