It is designed primarily to build on and bring to fruition already-established collaborative initiatives, but also to invite new contributions that extend the partnership in strategically important directions. The symposium is driven by the partnership\u2019s commitment to support the following four Malm\u00f6 University\/RIT Partnership goals:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>joint research projects<\/li>\n<li>collaborative course development<\/li>\n<li>curricular integration opportunities<\/li>\n<li>enhancement of student and faculty mobility<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The themes for this year\u2019s Symposium are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conceptions and Practices of \u201cnature\u201d: urban and non-urban environments; industrial and post-industrial environments; the wild and the cultivated; constructing and crossing boundaries\u2014the local and global.<\/li>\n<li>Making and Managing Bodies: their circulation in urban space; green clothing initiatives; sexology; nationalized, colonized, and migrating bodies; forms of identity construction.<\/li>\n<li>Effects and Implications of new Technologies: gaming; mapping\/producing space; managing people and privacy; improving infrastructure; transforming authorship, collaborative pedagogy; multi-media platforms; imaging practices.<\/li>\n<li>Forms and Practices of Sustainability: architecture; urban agriculture; housing and real estate; health systems; engineering systems; interactive design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PLEASE CONSIDER PROPOSING<\/strong>, in one or two paragraphs, a <strong>Labinar<\/strong> and\/or <strong>Study-Visit<\/strong> that addresses one or more of the four goals mentioned above and is set within one of the symposium themes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposals will be reviewed by the MU\/RIT Partnership Academic Council. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS: SEPTEMBER 4, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SUBMIT ELECTRONICALLY TO: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"mailto:muritpartnership@rit.edu\">muritpartnership@rit.edu<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The symposium is free of charge, but travel and hotel is covered by each MaH participant\/institution respectively.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open for all interested &#8211; there is no fee but travel and accomodation expenses must be paid for and organized by each participant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following Contact persons at Malm\u00f6 University can answer your question<\/strong>: Culture and Society: US &#8211; Magnus Johansson; K3 &#8211; Berndt Clavier; GPS &#8211; Dimosthenes Chatzoglakis; LS: Despina Tszimoula;<br \/>\nTechnology and Society: Jeanette Eriksson.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Proposals to Malm\u00f6 University and Rochester Institute of Technology Partnership Symposium RIT Campus, October 8 \u2013 10, 2015 This year\u2019s Symposium will be hosted by RIT.
