ComDev Seminar at American University of Paris

comdevaupconorashleigh02

Hosted by Professor Tanya Elder of the American University in central Paris (https://www.aup.edu/), the ComDev team was joined by more than 20 MA students at one of the largest Glocal Classroom teaching seminars outside the Öresund region from 10-12 November.

The ComDev team, led by the course responsible for the Media, Globalization and Development course Hugo Boothby and ComDev program coordinator Tobias Denskus, also met with the Swedish delegation to UNESCO (http://www.swedenabroad.com/en-GB/Embassies/OECD/) and the C4D network (http://c4dnetwork.ning.com/) before an intensive teaching seminar with inputs from five ComDev teachers and four AUP colleagues.

All in all a great opportunity to network with colleagues, students and the Communication for Development community!

We were also lucky that one of our students, Conor Ashleigh, works as a freelance photographer and he kindly provided two of the photos for this post.comdevaupconorashleigh01

Each autumn K3 offers the course Rörlig bild och webcasting/Filmmaking and Webcasting. The course is elective for the bachelor in Media and Communication Studies but also offered as independent course for students with different kinds of background. Within the course the students combine media theory and film production. Earlier this semester the students were involved in streaming from the Social Innovation Summit conference.

K3 Research Fair

Wednesday afternoon K3 researchers shared projects with bachelor and master students for possible collaboration. The aim is for students to get inspired by the research conducted in K3, learn about projects in which students can contribute with their exam projects, and researchers looking for student assistance may find students whose skills and interests matches ongoing or planned projects.

What: Student exhibition by independent course Den fotografiska bilden/The Photographic Image
Where: Vita boxen at the Orkanen library

P4 Malmöhus (Swedish national radio) interviewed teacher Christel Brost and students at the inauguration yesterday. Read and listen here!
